1. The word “psychology” is derived from the Greek word psyche, which means ‘spirit, soul, breath,’ and logia, which means ‘the study of.’

2. Aristotle was a Greek philosopher who believed in emotions originating from the heart rather than the brain.

3. It is believed by psychologists that humans using only 10% of their brains is merely a myth. They say that humans use almost mostly every part of their brains all the time. Even while sleeping, most of the brain parts show some kind of activity.

4. Biochemically speaking, having a severe obsessive-compulsive disorder is the same as being in love.

5. There is a psychological disorder known by the name Hikikomori, in which people isolate themselves from the world, usually just shutting themselves in their houses for months. Psychologists used to believe that this condition was most common in younger people but as it turns out, people who suffer from this are getting older and staying in their houses for longer.
